Police have laid charges on the driver of City Line Buses who was involved in the tragic bus accident at Edinburgh drive on Wednesday night that claimed the life of a school teacher.

Police Spokesperson Corporal Suliano Tevita confirmed to Fijivillage that the 47 year old driver was taken into custody yesterday afternoon and was later charged with occasioning death by dangerous driving.

Corporal Tevita said charges were laid late last night and he will be produced in court tomorrow.

Meanwhile, a man is still admitted at the Suva hospital however his condition is improving.

According to Police, a Dee Cees bus was heading towards Suva when it collided with the City Line Transport Bus, travelling in the opposite direction and which had veered onto the Dee Cees bus lane.

One side of the Dee Cees bus got ripped away in the process.
