All the government Permanent Secretaries and Heads of Departments will soon be given a circular by the Public Service Commission on areas in which they have to reduce their operational costs.

This is part of the government's effort to reduce its expenditure by more than $75 million as announced in the revised budget by Prime Minister, Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama last Friday.

PSC Permanent Secretary, Parmesh Chand said they are working with the National Planning and the Finance Ministry to map out key areas where expenditure can be reduced.

He said one key area they are looking at is ways to freeze all the acting appointments and promotions till the end of this year.

He has also reiterated that there will be no job losses.
