Cikobia is slowly returning to normality following devastation at the hands of Hurricane Daman.
Interim Minister for Provincial Development, Ratu Epeli Ganilau said that at the moment Government ministries and RFMF engineers are assisting in the rehabilitation of Cikobia, yet no set time frame and cost factor can be set.

He also adds that the first priority is to ensure that basic amenities are restored.
A damage assessment report on Cikobia Island done by the Ministry for Fijian Affairs and Regional Development stated that houses were completely destroyed.
Ganilau added that 20 houses and a school were destroyed and four villages affected.
