As the Fiji Police Force tries to achieve a crime free nation in the next few years, the island of Cicia became the first Island in Lau Group to be declared Crime free last week.

A team of officers from the Juvenile Bureau were also on the island awarding certificates to students for the Blue Light camp project.

Blue Light Camp Project Coordinator, Inspector Josaia Weicavu who was also on the island said that the main aim of this project is to build student character and to prevent them from indulging into criminal activities.

Inspector Weicavu said the chiefs of the five villages in Cicia signed the crime free declaration together with the leaders of the different religious denominations on the island.
