Executives of the Methodist Church of Fiji will decide at their annual conference in Naduri, Macuata next week on whether they will pay the $435,000 dollars debt owed to the government.
General Secretary Rev Ame Tugawe said the final decision on the matter rest with the church executives and talatala's.
Tugawe adds it is up to the government if they want to build another hospital after interim health minister Dr Jona Senilagakali indicated that he is working on plans to construct a new hospital for the people of Ba.
Doctor Senilagakali told Village that they have drawn up plans to construct a new hospital to avoid these problems in the future.
While the Methodist Church maintains that they had made an arrangement with the ousted SDL government for the debt to be written off, Dr. Jona said the church should pay its dues as tax dollars were used to repair the Ba Mission Hospital, based on the understanding that the church would repay the amount.
