The Methodist Church will have to appoint new members of the Standing Committee of the Methodist Church for this year.

Acting General Secretary, Reverend Tevita Nawadra said a date is yet to be set for this election as this committee's role is important as they will be involved in the running of the church programmes for the whole year.

The Standing Committee consists of 16 senior pastors and lay pastors from various circuits in Fiji, excluding the President Reverend Ame Tugawe and General Secretary Reverend Tuikilakila Waqairatu, as they are charged with participating in meetings in contravention to the Public Emergency Regulations.
