The Methodist Church of Fiji will look into the debt owed to the government after they had earlier said they would not do so.

Assistant General Secretary, Reverend Tuikilakila Waqairatu, had stated earlier this week that the Methodist Church will not pay the $435,000 owed to the government for the maintenance of the Ba Mission Hospital because it's an illegal government.

However, he said they will have to refer the matter to the standing committee of the church to decide on the matter if the interim government continues to pressure the Methodist Church to pay.
