A decision is expected to be made today on whether a permit will be given to the Methodist Church of Fiji to hold its Standing Committee meeting.

That is the confirmation of the Ministry of Information Permanent Secretary, Lt Colonel Neumi Leweni.

The Methodist Church has applied for a permit to the Commissioner of Police office yesterday morning.

Prime Minister Commodore Frank Bainimarama earlier stated that a permit will only be given with the condition that those ministers who have a political agenda in the church are not allowed to be in the Standing Committee.

Church officials confirmed they are waiting for a reply from the Police as the meeting is expected to be held tomorrow morning.
