It is not known at this stage whether the RFMF and Police will change their decision on the annual Methodist Conference which was scheduled for August in Rewa.

A meeting took place this morning between Prime Minister Commodore Frank Bainimarama and the Methodist Church on the cancellation of the Conference.

However, when approached by Fijivillage, General Secretary Tuikilakila Waqairatu said they could not reveal what was said at the meeting adding that meetings between the two parties are still ongoing.

The meeting was attended by Bainimarama and other government officials, General Secretary Waiqairatu and Methodist Church President Ame Tugawe.

The RFMF earlier said they made the decision not to allow the annual Methodist Church Conference to go ahead to protect the rule of law and maintain stability for every race in the country.
