Three hundred church ministers from various denominations will join members of the security forces in a march to be staged from Labasa to Naodamu to mark the opening of the Inter-denominational Church Conference on Wednesday.

The three day conference is part of their Community Policing Program to fight crime and will involve the Prisons, Police and members of the Military along with members of the community and church ministers who will focus on working together to build the nation.

Police spokesperson Constable Mika Cabelawa earlier stated the conference is part of the Community Policing Program to help fight crime in the north.

A budget of $17,000 will help fund the 3 day conference.

The church ministers invited include the Catholic Church of Fiji, Methodist Church, Assemblies of God Church, World Harvest Center, All Nations and others.

Commissioner of Police Commodore Esala Teleni will also be present at the three day conference.
