A leading Church leader and Pacific Church of Conferences Chairman has criticised the leadership of churches and NGOs saying that they have shifted from one of service, to one of privilege over the past twenty years.

Addressing the Pacific Youth Festival delegates in a panel session yesterday, Reverend Apimeliki Qiliho said the time of seeing leaders take time out and walk through mud to see their people has changed, to one where they expect pomp and ceremony when they visit people.

Reverend Qiliho stresses that there are deeper issues to address and the only way these can be solved is by integrating people and leaders in leadership programmes.

Meanwhile Heritage Officer, Mere Ratu Nabuabua from the Department of Heritage and Culture speaking at the Pacific Youth Festival said youths should be encouraged to take part in retaining their cultural identity and heritage.
