Church committee to meet Ro Teimumu
This decision was reached after the Committee met yesterday at Epworth House in Suva and decided that the Annual Church Conference will not be held this year.
Church Assistant General Secretary Reverend Tevita Nawadra said a delegation of church ministers is expected to go to Rewa today.
The delegation will be led by former Methodist Church President and head of the Nadi Church Circuit, Reverend Laisiasa Ratabacaca, who also chaired the Standing Committee meeting yesterday.
The Standing Committee meeting took place minus the senior church executives who were last week charged for allegedly breaching the Public Emergency Regulation.
Meanwhile, Suva Magistrate Eparama Rokoika had yesterday given permission for the 9 executives of the Methodist Church to attend church meetings, with strict conditions.
Magistrate Rokoika has ordered that the nine church executives can attend all church meetings.
The meetings are not to contain any political issues and that the Church has to apply for a permit for each meeting, and they must adhere to the requirements of the permit.
