Methodist church officials are still waiting for word from Commissioner of Police Esala Teleni on whether they will be granted a permit to hold a conference, but on a smaller scale.
Assistant General Secretary Reverend Tevita Nawadra said in their request, they had outlined that they had wanted to hold the conference and choir competition on a smaller scale to be held in the 53 divisions.
According to Reverend Nawadra, Nadi held their conference last week, where they collected $140,000.
He added they met with Commissioner Teleni yesterday and he said Teleni has assured them that he will inform them about the permit request today.
They plan to have the conference from 30th August to the 4th September.
