The Methodist Church of Fiji executives are still waiting for the Social Services Department secretary Reverend Manasa Lasaro to return from the West before they will meet to decide on whether they will change their stance in opposing the draft People's Charter.

General Secretary Reverend Tuikilakila Waqairatu said the church is still firm on the decision they reached in the annual conference not to support the draft Charter, although they have met with senior police officers who are church members, who have asked them to allow members to have a choice.

The church ministers and stewards have already distributed to members the church's stance not to support the draft Charter and are expecting members to sign forms provided to them, opposing the charter.

The Methodist Church will then collect all the forms signed by their members before they will try to meet with President Ratu Josefa Iloilo to express their concern on the draft Charter.
