The president of the Methodist Church of Fiji Reverend Laisiasa Ratabacaca is expected to visit the Suva prison next week for the main reason of mending the relationship of the Vanua and the church.

According to a senior prison officer Peni Rokodiva, the head of the church will be talking to the inmates and also assuring them that they are always accepted in the community when they are released from prison. It is understood that most of the prison inmates are from the Methodist Church.

A former senior official of a government ministry Christopher Singh appeared before Magistrate Aminiasi Katonivualiku charged with four counts of official corruption.

No plea was taken today however, Singh's lawyer Memboob Raza asked the court to adjourn the case to Monday afternoon as no disclosures were prepared today. Raza told the court that he does not want to pre-empt the defense position.
 
Singh was given fresh bail of $1000 and to appear in Court at 2.15pm on Monday.
