Newly appointed Methodist Church of Fiji President Reverend Ame Tugawe and General Secretary Reverend Tuikilakila Waqairatu will now oversee the church standing committee work, in making sure all forms signed by members of the church who are against the draft People's Charter will be collected in time.
While the church standing committee led by Reverend Manasa Lasaro was responsible for telling the members of the church in their annual conference not to support the draft charter, Reverend Tugawe and Waqairatu will now work together to see all the forms are collected.
Waqairatu added that the church is looking at the end of this month to collect all the signed forms before they will try and arrange a meeting with the President Ratu Josefa Iloilo to convince him that they have the support from their members in not supporting the Draft People's Charter.
