Christians Celebrate Resurrection Sunday
The Head of the Catholic Church, Archbishop Petero Mataca said his resurrection signifies light overcoming darkness.
Assistant General Secretary for the Methodist Church of Fiji, Reverend Tuikilakila Waqairatu, believes it is a time for Christians to become the living witnesses of God in living peacefully with other races.
Today marks the end of Easter on the Christian calendar, which for Catholics began with a period of forty-day fasting or self denial of certain habits leading up to Christ's death and resurrection while for other Christian denominations, Easter began with Palm Sunday or Children's Sunday whereby before Jesus' crucifixion, he was welcomed into the city of Jerusalem and hailed as the King of all people.
