The Interim Attorney General Aiyaz Sayed Khaiyum has announced in the last hour that Christopher Pryde has been appointed the new Solicitor General.

Speaking at a press conference, Sayed Khaiyum confirmed that Pryde has been appointed on a five year term and takes up his new post immediately.

Sayed Khaiyum said Pryde was the most suitable candidate to help in the directions and changes being brought about.

Originally from Australia, Pryde acted as a state lawyer to represent the interim government in various cases brought against it after the events of December 5th.
