The 2015 FMF Chow Games will kick off at the ANZ Stadium at 9 this morning.

1,540 students from 20 schools around the country will be taking part in the two day event.

Some students are from Macuata, Rotuma, Namosi, Taveuni, Vanuabalavu and Bua.

The teams who are expected to be dominant in the competition are Suva, Nasinu and Lautoka.

Suva is fielding 245 athletes while both Nasinu and Lautoka are fielding 134 athletes.

Event coordinator, Patrick Bower says all preparations are on track for the two day event.

He says the meet this year is special as they have a record number of schools from the rural communities taking part.

Suva last won the FMF Chow Games which was held in 2012.
