Two Chinese businessmen charged by FICAC with allegedly trying to bribe a Permanent Secretary appeared in the High Court this morning.

The two, Chen Xue Liang and Dechuan Zhao are alleged to have bribed Permanent Secretary for Finance John Prasad with a sum of $60,000 on the 28th of July this year in order to get the rights to a project in Savusavu.

FICAC has charged the two Liang and Zhao each with one count of bribery under the Anti Bribery Promulgation.

The matter has been set for hearing from the 10th of May 2010 after High Court Judge Justice Salesi Temo informed their lawyer, Gavin O'Driscoll that he was fully booked until May.
