Chinese VP Meets Bainimarama
The Vice President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping arrived into the country yesterday enroute to Latin America.
Fijivillage has received information that Vice President Jinping has held talks with Interim Prime Minister Commodore Frank Bainimarama.
Bainimarama is expected to inform the nation about the Chinese Vice President's visit later this afternoon.
Fiji's President Ratu Josefa Iloilo also met with Jinping yesterday after a full traditional welcome ceremony in Nadi.
Vice President Jinping is currently at Denarau and it is understood that bilateral talks have taken place between Fiji and China.
It was revealed late last year that there were discussions taking place with China to secure a $240 million loan from China for low cost housing projects here in Fiji.
It is not known at this stage whether further talks on this matter have taken place.
