The Chinese Government is optimistic that trade between Fiji will be more than what was achieved in 2008.
Counsellor Fei Mingxing of the Chinese Embassy said their trade relationship with Fiji has always been a good one and their Government is always looking for ways at improving things further, especially since 2008 was a good year for the two countries.
Mingxing said one of the industries they are looking at is the tourism industry, where they are encouraging their citizens to come to Fiji.
The Chinese Government had facilitated the purchase of 3 fire trucks from Australia for the National Fire Authority.
