The Fiji Teachers Union continues to remind all the teachers that children who are victims of corporal punishment in school tend to drop out from school.
FTU General Secretary, Agni Deo Singh said this action must be stopped because it can fall back on the teachers losing their job.
Meanwhile Singh said teachers are not following the proper procedures to discipline the students.
Meanwhile Interim Minister for Education, Netani Sukanaivalu has warned that any teacher who inflicts any form of corporal punishment on a child, will be dealt with severely.
