Children to get recognition
The award will be handed out by President Ratu Epeli Nailatikau and first lady Adi Koila Nailatikau.
This was the dream of Vision Fiji who wants to recognize children’s efforts and at the same inspire.
Meanwhile, it was a special treat for a group of 10 children from around the country as they were hosted to lunch by the Digicel Fiji Sevens team.
The children from around the country were selected for their exemplary achievements and will today receive a first ever children’s awards handed out by President Ratu Epeli Nailatikau and first lady Adi Koila Nailatikau.
Fijivillage caught up with the children at McDonalds at Laucala Bay where they had a special visit from four members of the Digicel Sevens team, Nikola Matawalu, Emosi Vucago, Sitiveni Waqa and Nasoni Roko.
12-year-old Kalit Kaushal Kumar from Vunimoli Primary School in Labasa, who is one of the ten receiving his award today, has been looking after his grandfather since he was five years old.
Meanwhile, 16-year-old Tucika Moula from Shiri Gurunanak Khalsa College in Labasa as well has been carrying out various community works with his church group and he feels honored to be receiving an award from the President.
The 10 children will be awarded at Government House today.
