Children Struggle With Loss Of Mother
Maria Dikele who is a class 5 student of Wailevu Primary School will face a huge responsibility with the help of his father's immediate family to look after her 11 month year old brother, her brother who is in class 3 and 2 sisters, one is 3 and 5.
Speaking to Legend FM News from Wailevu, a close relative said the 5 children are now staying with the father's immediate family and everyone in the village are trying their very best to console the children through this difficult time.
Meanwhile, her father Jekesoni Yavala Junior has been charged with alleged murder of his mother and was denied bailed.
No plea was taken and Magistrate Anare Tuilevuka denied him bail saying that he is facing a very serious charge.
While applying for bail, Jekesoni told the magistrate that he had five children and he needed to look after them.
The alleged incident took place after a domestic dispute. He allegedly punched and kicked her and later struck her with a Toshiba torch. Post mortem report showed that Meresilita Mote died as a result of a broken skull and ruptured liver. Yavala will be appearing in the Labasa court on the 24th of this month.
