Police have not ruled out the possibility of child negligence in the incident where a 6 year old boy died as a result of gunshot wounds.
Chief Operations Officer ACP Rusiate Tudravu said that there angle of investigation is towards the parents as these children should have been supervised.
ACP Tudravu said that this is a very unfortunate incident that could have been avoided.
Meanwhile a 10 year old boy is currently being interviewed by police in relation to this incident.
Police spokesperson Ana Naisoro said they have determined that the 10 year old was playing with the 6 year old boy when the incident occurred and is currently being questioned with the presence of his parents.
Naisoro also said interrogation of the owner of the gun continues today.
She added the 14 year old boy who is admitted at the Lautoka Hospital following this incident has undergone surgery last night and is now in a stable condition.
