Child abuse has always been prevalent in Fiji yet nothing has been done about it and it is now time to walk the talk.
That is the call from Fiji Women's Crisis Centre (FWCC) Coordinator Shameema Ali, who is in New Zealand.
Ali said though the statistics are worrying, authorities have to start putting their words into action.
Yesterday, the interim Minister for Education Filipe Bole had expressed concern at the Child Sexual Abuse Report of 2007 prepared by the Fiji Police where there were 186 cases with children between the ages of 14 to 16 and 154 cases with children less than 13 years.
