Defending super rugby champions the Chiefs suffered their first loss of the season after going down to the Western Force 18-15 in Perth last night.
The Force scored the only two tries of the game, and Chiefs co-captain Aaron Cruden said they lacked hunger.
Meanwhile the Blues defeated the Cheetahs 40-30 in a scrappy affair at Eden Park.
The Blues bonus point victory came after leading 30-13 at half time.
In other results, the Brumbies managed to beat the Stormers 25-15 in Canberra while the Bulls ended the Sharks unbeaten run with a 23-19 victory and the Lions beat a 13 men Reds outfit 23-20.
