Departing Chiefs co-captain Craig Clarke is receiving the praise after guiding the side to its second-straight Super Rugby title.

The Chiefs have secured the crown again, courtesy of a 27-22 win over the Brumbies in Hamilton.

Clarke will now head to Ireland after playing a key role in both the franchise’s two titles.

Richard Kahui, Lelia Masaga, Toby Smith and Brendon Leonard are also leaving the side.

Coach Dave Rennie said despite a scrappy performance he is satisfied as this is a special win.

Meanwhile, the Brumbies will break for just one week before launching an assault on the 2014 premiership.

Coach Jake White is keen to continue the development of his young side, which are making clear progress after finishing third last in 2011.
