A shipping container filled with donated goods from the Chiefs Super Rugby team will soon head to Fiji to help those affected by Cyclone Winston this year.
The sponsor of the Chiefs rugby team, Gallagher group asked players if they would be interested in helping out, and the team agreed.
People have started donating clothing, footwear, tents, balls, health‑care products and stationery.
Chiefs’ players Seta Tamanivalu, Michael Leitch, along with Hika Elliott, were at Gallagher head office last Friday helping to pack the donated goods into the shipping container.
The shipping container will set sail on May 16 and will take about five days to reach Fiji.
The Crusaders take on the Chiefs at 7.35pm at Suva's ANZ Stadium on the 1st of July.
