Chiefs from 6 of the 14 provinces in the country who the Great Council of Chiefs Review team has consulted regarding the GCC have expressed their support that the President, the Vice-President and the Prime Minister will no longer be part of the new look GCC.

Speaking to Village News, GCC review team secretary Ratu Josateki Nawalowalo said that after hearing the views of the chiefs from the Serua, Nadroga/Navosa, Ba, Ra and Rewa provinces they believe that the President, the VP and the PM have a number of roles to play in the government and within their traditional roles.
