Super Rugby defending champion the Chiefs will have to beat the Blues this Friday if they want a place in the playoffs for the third year in a row.
After their 24-16 victory over the Hurricanes and subsequent results from other games, have left the defending champion in seventh place overall.
If the Chiefs beat the Blues and secure either 44 or 45 points, they are likely to finish sixth and face an away qualifier match the following weekend against the third ranked team or lowest ranked conference winner from the table.
The Chiefs will play the Blues at 7.35pm on Friday
Meanwhile, the Highlanders will take on the Crusaders at 7.35pm Saturday.
If the Crusaders win, they will secure a home semifinal.
