The Chiefs will have to overcome a three match losing run against the Reds this afternoon if they are to preserve their lead at the top of the Super Rugby standings.

The Reds, the 2011 winners, have won their last three encounters with the defending Super Rugby champions and travel to Hamilton where they have won the last two meetings.

The Chiefs will have not forgotten the last time they faced the Reds at Suncorp Stadium where they lost 42-27.

Reds and Wallabies scrumhalf Will Genia rates the Chiefs an even better team this season, even as they attempt to defend their title without World Cup winner Sonny Bill Williams.

The Chiefs host the Reds at 4.35 today.

Meanwhile, at 7.35pm the Blues take on the Hurricanes, the Rebels play the Kings at 9.40pm while at 11.45pm the Force meet the Crusaders.
