Chiefs half back Tawera Kerr-Barlow has been sidelined for six weeks after breaking his jaw.
The 22-year-old would undergo surgery next week with Augustine Pulu set to start at halfback although former All Blacks No9 Brendon Leonard is poised to reenter the selection frame after fracturing his cheekbone in a preseason match.
The chiefs take on the Blues this Saturday at 6.35pm.
