The Chiefs became the first team to qualify for the top six playoffs after they beat the Highlanders and consolidated their lead at the top of the Super Rugby standings.

Meanwhile the race for the five spots is wide open after round 16 of competition

Looking at the table standings, Chiefs are at the top with 62, Stormers are second with 58 points, Brumbies in third place with 54, 

The three qualifying wild card teams at the moment are the Bulls sitting on fourth spot, with 54 points, followed by the Crusaders on 52 and then the Hurricanes with 49 points.

The Reds and Sharks are also on 49 points so it will be a close race to the playoffs.
