The Chiefs have prevailed with a 27-21 win over the Crusaders in their Super Rugby derby in Christchurch yesterday.
The match started off tight and scrappy as the Crusaders took a 13-8 lead into the halftime break after a try apiece to both teams.
The Chiefs drew first blood in the second spell to take the lead through a Seta Tamanivalu try, but the Crusaders responded quickly when David Havili dotted down.
A Richie Mo’unga penalty goal put the Crusaders ahead 21-15 in the 63rd minute, however the Chiefs soon turned around the momentum to launch a fight back.
In other matches, the Waratahs beat the Reds 30-10, the Rebels defeated the Force 25-19, the Kings were defeated by the Sharks 43-8 while the Stormers took out the Bulls 33-9.
