Scott Waldrom said the Chiefs will head to Sydney this week to take on the Waratahs in round seven of Super Rugby still high on confidence despite their two win-four loss record.

Players appeared shattered both physically and mentally after their narrow 16-13 loss to the Blues in Hamilton on Saturday night.

But despite the huge physical effort expended by the Chiefs’ forwards for the reward of just one bonus point, one of the continuing heroes of that front-eight effort, Waldrom said they will quickly get over it and move on, knowing they were playing well enough to win games.

They now looked forward to some dry weather in Sydney to bring their backs into play more to capitalise on the good work the forwards were doing and put a complete performance together against a tough Waratahs team.

The Chiefs meet the Waratahs at 8:40pm on Friday night.
