All eyes will be on Wellington tonight when the Hurricanes host the Chiefs in what is arguably the match of Round Nine.

Both sides have set the tournament alight with some scintilating performances, especially the Chiefs who are sitting at the top of the Australasian Group.

The Chiefs currently have 29 points after losing just once in seven matches – a surprising 36‑32 home defeat against the Lions in Round Two – and after having a bye last weekend they will try to continue where they left off in their previous match when they secured a deserved 29‑23 victory over the Blues in Hamilton.

2015 runners‑up the Hurricanes, by contrast, made a slow start to the competition but after early defeats – against the Brumbies and Highlanders – they returned to winning ways and are unbeaten in their last four fixtures.

Both sides boast formidable game‑breakers and the duel between the two All Black fly‑halves – the Hurricanes' Beauden Barrett and Aaron Cruden of the Chiefs – should be one of the highlights of this encounter.

The last time these teams met, the Hurricanes claimed a 21‑13 victory in Round 18 last year.

The Hurricanes host the Chiefs at 7.35 tonight.

At 5.15 this afternoon the Sunwolves play the Jaguares while the Force meet the Waratahs at 9.40 tonight.

Meanwhile the Sharks beat the Highlanders 15-14 while the Rebels thrashed the Cheetahs 36-14 last night.
