The Cheetahs scored a try in extra time to snatch a 26-33 victory over the Melbourne Rebels for their first Super Rugby win of the season yesterday.

The result extends the Rebels losing streak to 12 straight losses in Super Rugby and ends a six match losing streak for the Cheetahs who had only won in Australia once before.

With the score tied at 26-26 and the clock ticking down, the Cheetahs recycled the ball through 16 phases and got the try in the corner.

Meanwhile, Highlanders have taken the lead on the points table with 16 points.

Stormers are second, Reds third and Chiefs sit fourth.

In this weeks matches, Blues will take on Hurricanes at 6.35pm this Friday and at 8.40pm Rebels will play Force.
