Check points may be set up in termite affected areas around Lautoka said Operation Kadivuka chief of operations Lemeki Ratucicivi.

Briefing teams on Friday Ratucicivi said Government will do all it can to contain the movement of the deadly termite to other parts of the country.

He echoed comments made by the Commissioner Western, Joeli Cawaki, who spoke of Government's commitment towards the Operation to department heads.

The Commissioner said that Operation Kadivuka is a biosecurity operation and Government is committed to ensuring that the infestation does not spread to other parts of the country.

Government has approved $711,000 for the Operation, and Cawaki said the allocated budget will cover, among others, safety attire for the temporary biosecurity officers and kerosene spray to exterminate the termites.
