The National Fire Authority has once again reiterated its call for property owners to ensure that their property is in compliance with fire safety standards to reduce the risk of fires.

This comes after Lautoka fire fighters attended a fire incident at the Courts Homecentres warehouse at Daniva Street, Marine Drive, this morning.

The NFA said that a little after 9:30am, they received a call and when they arrived at the scene, they saw smoke coming out of the warehouse.

The firefighters switched off the main power supply located inside the warehouse in the delivery area of the building.

Meanwhile, Distribution Manager West Shalen said they were able to respond quickly as they had undergone training for such cases.
