The defamation case filed by Mahendra Chaudhry against ousted Prime Minister Laisenia Qarase will now be heard on November 8th.

Chaudhry has taken legal action against Qarase on the grounds that Qarase made defamatory statements in parliament between November and December in 2005.

Chaudhry is alleging that Qarase made a statement that Chaudhry was benefiting from the $86 million sugar restructure money that was given by the EXIM bank of India.
The case was called in today for mention behind closed doors where Rajendra Chaudhry represented Chaudhry while Hamnedra Nagin represented Qarase.

The case will be heard on November 8th before Justice Filimoni Jitoko.
