The Interim Finance Minister Mahendra Chaudhry has reminded the employees of Fiji Islands Revenue and Customs Authority of their vital role in assisting the government carry out its responsibilities.

During his two day tour of the FIRCA's offices in the West, Chaudhry stressed that FIRCA plays a significant role in tax collection as it is a major source of revenue for the government.

Chaudhry also met with FIRCA Board Chairman Filipe Bole and other officials to observe and discuss the problems and plans for FIRCA.

Bole also assured the interim minister that FIRCA is committed to meet the goals set out by the interim government.
Chaudhry, along with his Permanent Secretary Peceli Vocea also visited the Customs area at Nadi, Lautoka Wharf and William and Goslings warehouse as part of his tour.
