The Interim Finance Minister is pleased that one of the world's leading investment banks has offered US$500 million for bilateral loan financing.
Mahendra Chaudhry said their talks are continuing with the bank and a decision will be made after carefully considering all options and conditions.
He said the bank has looked into certain projects where they are interested in investing.
Three officials from Merill Lynch Asia Pacific Limited met with Chaudhry yesterday.
Chaudhry said the banking group believes that Fiji can take on additional funding to invest in projects to enhance economic welfare.
