Interim Finance Minister, Mahendra Chaudhry has cleared the air that the Lands ministry had paid out over $884,000 for the empty office space in Kadavu House between August and December last year upon request from the Public Service Commission.

He said the Finance Ministry was not involved in the process.

Chaudhry refused to comment further on this issue as he has ordered for the payment to stop. He said the Public Service Commission can make further comments.

Meanwhile, Interim Attorney General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum said this morning that he needs some minor details on this issue from the directors of Kadavu Holdings before he meets with them early next week.
