Chaudhry awaits word from committee
This report has highlighted a number of cases of mismanagement and misuse of funds by some former board members and senior managers of Post Fiji.
Chaudhry told Village News that a statement will be released soon after the committee completes its work.
Meanwhile the Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption is also going through the audit report before investigating the allegations.
It has been alleged that some former board members and senior management who were replaced a few months ago, did not discharge their duties as required, and engaged in unethical and corrupt practices in collusion with those they did business with. The audit report which has been received by Village News, has recommended that all overpayments, irregular and improper payments, should be recovered from a high ranking board member and a senior manager, who was asked to resign a few months ago.
It has also been highlighted that several tenders were issued without following the proper procedures, and in many cases the tenders which were worth more than 4 million dollars in the year 2005 and 2006, were issued to only one company.
