Former Prime Minister and Fiji Labour Party Leader Mahendra Chaudhry and five others are currently being questioned at Rakiraki Police station.

Chaudhry's son, Rajendra Chaudhry who is also at the Rakiraki Police station confirmed his father was taken to hospital yesterday afternoon when he reported to be sick.

He said Chaudhry was then brought to the station after receiving medical attention.

Assistant Police Spokesperson Inspector Atunaisa Sokomuri confirmed to Fijivillage that Chaudhry and the five others were taken into custody yesterday afternoon for allegedly breaching the Public Emergency regulation.

Sokomuri said the six are still being questioned and more details will be revealed later today.

It is alleged that Chaudhry and the five others held meetings in breach of the conditions of the PER.
