The Interim Finance Minister has today rubbished reports in New Zealand (NZ) and comments by NZ Prime Minister Helen Clark that Interim Prime Minister Commodore Frank Bainimarama will soon become President and appoint Chaudhry as Prime Minister.

Mahendra Chaudhry said there are no such plans and it is totally irresponsible for Clark and others in NZ to make these public statements.

"I think, right now, Helen Clark should be worrying about her Prime Ministership. November electionss are due i.e. Elections are due in New Zealand in November and she is right behind in the polls. So instead of speculating about others, she should worry about herself."

Meanwhile, Commodore Bainimarama has also dismissed the claims by Clark.

"All i can say is (that) Helen Clark is a couple of thousand miles away from Fiji and we should stop listening to the rhetoric that she's coming up with."
