The Fiji Labour Party believes that electoral and constitutional changes as proposed in the People’s Charter should also form the basis of talks at the proposed President’s Political Dialogue Forum.
Labour leader Mahendra Chaudhry, who met with the United Nations and Commonwealth Joint Technical team this morning, said these are matters that can form the basis of getting the forum convened.
Chaudhry said there were also discussions on a specific timeframe to conclude the proposed forum.
Meanwhile, NGOs have been slotted into the tight schedule of the five member UN and Commonwealth Joint Technical Team in the next two days to discuss the President’s Political Dialogue Forum.
ECREA and the Movement for Democracy will be meeting the group on Thursday while the Fiji Women's Rights Movement will meet them tomorrow.
The UN and Commonwealth team is also expected to meet with Interim PM Commodore Bainimarama and Interim Attorney General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum later in the week.
