Interim Finance Minister Mahendra Chaudhry met with representatives of the European delegation to the Pacific late yesterday to discuss issues relating to the EU's recent decisions on funding to Fiji.
And while the Head of the EU delegation is expected to announce later this morning at a press conference the status of various funding for Fiji's sugar industry, Chaudhry stresses that they will forge ahead with expanding the industry.
Chaudhry said various upgrade programmes are not EU funded and stakeholders must focus their attention on the task at hand.
Head of the EU Delegation Robert Ridolfi along with ambassadors from the UK and France are expected to reveal at the press conference this hour the EU latest decisions on Fiji and the Economic Partnership Agreements.
